Word Service was established 20 years ago by David Williams, a former technical magazine editor.  It prefers to work closely with a company’s marketing and technical personnel, building up an in-depth knowledge of its products and services.  This means that it can sometimes act on behalf of a client, even in the absence of key personnel, taking a brief from an editor and preparing the first draft of an article.

 

David Williams trained as a journalist on Electrical Times and later Edited the international titles Asian Electricity and Middle East Electricity, travelling extensively in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Far East.  Later he worked as consulting Editor on Electricity International, Drives and Controls and Electrical Design magazines.

 

A committed Christian, he is actively involved in leadership roles in a local church.   He is also a partner, with his wife, in a Christian bookshop re:fresh books and christian resources in Surbiton, Surrey.  This was awarded ‘Small Retailer of the Year’ by the Christian Booksellers Convention in February 2006 after only 16 months in business.
